Stand Up Comedy Night | 7:00 to 9:00 pm

  • Tickets $20 in advance or $30 at the door as long as space is available.
  • Hot Peppers Mexican Grill Food Truck will be serving from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Join us for some great stand up from four amazing local Comedians.  

Host: Jen Kuhle comes straight from the banks of the mighty Mississippi. She has performed standup and improv across the US and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. With the mouth of a sailor and the face of a preschool teacher, she’ll be sure to say all the things that are frowned upon in a professional setting.

Opening acts: Tim Overton is a sketch, improv, and stand-up comedian from Des Moines, Iowa. When Tim is not on stage, you can find him teaching improv classes at Teehee’s Comedy Club. Look them up on socials @timdoverton

Matthew Jacobsen is a farm-raised Iowa native who comes armed with an array of stories, voices and faces. Matthew has been a featured performer on comedy festivals in Iowa and across the country.

Headliner: Clifton Antoine, originally from Baytown, Texas (AKA The Dirty Bay), is an Actor/Comedian based out of Des Moines, Iowa. He helped start the Comedy Kickback, Des Moines’ first all-black stand-up comedy show. As an improviser, Clif has performed with Chowdown, Kitten Bomb, Alien Head Emoji, and 2 drink minimum. Clif’s style of comedy has been described as weird and unexpected. He talks about everything from Scooby-Doo to the Flat Earth Society. He believes in ghost and Bigfoot. As a recovering conspiracy theorist he uses comedy to tell his truth.

Ducharme-Jones perform original, Americana, Roots-Rock, hailing originally from Austin, Texas and now residing in the Des Moines Metroplex. Their songwriting is lyrical with strong harmonies, a hook to draw the listener in, along with solid, melodic, and sophisticated guitar. Their performances include original songs, as well as their take on some of their favorite covers including but not limited to Lucinda Williams, Tom Petty, Linda Ronstadt, Jimi Hendrix or Dolly Parton.

Matt Terronez Quartet / Music at the Winery

Matt Terronez is an Iowa-based singer/songwriter, arranger, guitarist, and keyboard player. His artistic arrangements and soulful vocal interpretations seamlessly blend pop, jazz, and R&B sensibilities. Terronez’ immediately recognizable voice, and genre-defying approach to music overall, produce memorable performances that bring audiences back, time and time again.

Terronez performs in and fronts several acts, including the jazz-tinged Matt Terronez Quartet, the soul-blues-fusion band The RhythMatics, and the classic rock and soul band Boomerang. With countless gigs played across the central U.S. and Rockies, Terronez parlays his unique ability to “read the room” into energetic, crowd-pleasing events. Matt’s relaxed rapport engages audiences and brings them along for a fun and uplifting musical journey every single time he plays.

Friday, June 7, 2024 | Quilts, Wine & What If’s with Tony Jacobson

Nationally known quilt designer, Tony Jacobson, will be presenting his program “Quilting: the Art of What If.” In this hour-long presentation he will show you how to look at patterns in a different light. He will be present around 40 quilts showing you how different the same pattern can look by changing the colors, style of fabrics, and even switching up the values of the fabrics used in the background and the main prints. You will come away inspired to make every pattern uniquely yours.

Tony Jacobson is a former graphic designer/art director for 30 years with his last art director position being for Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting Magazine. He is currently the Creativity Director for Piece Works Quilt Shop in Winterset, Iowa where he is constantly coming up with new patterns for the shop. Piece Works Quilt Shop will be supplying gift bags for all those who pre-register for the program. There will also be door prizes given throughout the night. Covered Bridges Winery will supply a glass of wine (or beverage of your choice and a individual charcuterie plate for all who pre-register as well. Also $5 of each ticket purchased will be donated to the Iowa Quilt Museum located in Winterset, Iowa.
