An interview with Alex

We sat down with Alex recently and asked him about his role with Silent Rivers.

Q: What’s one thing that you ‘geek out’ about?

Handcrafted details. This takes me back to my history of school and work. I studied woodworking and design in school and had a strong interest in creating handcrafted details. I’ve worked in various woodshops, and I really enjoy creating things with my hands. Handcrafted pieces add a challenge and uniqueness to the project, and I think it’s what sets Silent Rivers apart from others.

Q: What’s your favorite part of our process?

I really enjoy working with the client and designer to develop an idea and then execute on that idea to bring the client’s vision to life. That’s my specialty. I enjoy being a part of the project and having a hands-on role throughout the process.

Q: Why Silent Rivers?

I love working in residential construction. At one time, I worked for a commercial construction company where I had the opportunity to build many big elaborate pieces. Moving to a residential company allows me to really focus on details and the end goal of bringing the client’s vision to life.

Q: What does design+build mean to you?

The design+build process allows for the integration of function with aesthetic. Rather than just providing a pretty look, we want to give our clients something that’s functional and that will work for their needs. By collaborating closely with the client, designer and the lead artisan on the project, we’re really able to make sure the client’s vision is executed exactly as they imagined.
