Remodeling Design+Build Custom Cabinets & Furniture

The clients for this master suite were looking for a place of sanctuary with amenities meant for serious pampering. Having previous hired Silent Rivers to design and remodel their kitchen, they turned to our design+build expertise again to further update this custom home they built 30 years ago while raising their family.

This master suite design is layered with a soft color palette and materials that create the desired warmth and calm feeling of the space. We incorporated curved wood moldings, arches, organic lines and materials like travertine and pebble tile for the floor and teamed these up with ornate paneled doors in a chocolate stain.

Although we maintained the original location of the master bedroom, we also introduced layers of crown moldings, scale, proportion and texture to the room. By opening the windows to the outdoor views, we gave the room an expansive feel. We added a built-in entertainment center in the bedroom, adding storage and a finished look. The custom woodwork and cabinetry creates flow and connection with the master bath.

Our clients’ request was for a quiet space with spa-like feel. So we configured the layout to include a double vanity with space for an under-counter fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Our master bath was also designed for a separate water closet, large bubble soaking tub tucked between two large corner windows and a clean fireplace, sauna and finally, a vast closet with a built-in washer and dryer. A large steam shower was constructed with solid granite walls, a pebble floor and glass tile ceiling.  For the bathroom floor we selected the same travertine in large square running bond with in-floor heat. Since our client’s intent was to create an alternative space for watching TV, we made space in the bathroom for comfortable seating in front of the fireplace and TV.

Mirroring the master suite’s aesthetic touches of rich woodwork, travertine counters and chandeliers, the master closet was also designed for a more efficient flow and better organization of storage areas with thoughtful placement and balance of the closet’s key features. These features include large pull-out drawers, ample space for hanging clothes, extra storage up to the nine-foot ceiling, a hidden ironing board behind one of the cabinets, and a stackable washer and dryer.
