WAITRESS - LULU AUDITIONS

WAITRESS, the Tony nominated musical will be arriving at the Des Moines Civic Center December 5-10 and is looking for two young girls to perform the role of "Lulu" during the one-week run.

The character of "Lulu" is a sweet and carefree 4 to 5-year-old who appears in the production's finale scene.

AUDITION INFORMATION

The audition will consist of the child reading two lines from the show. Parents should bring a current head shot and resume (if available) along with all contact information to the audition.

There will be two audition sessions. The first session will begin at 10AM and the second session will begin at 1:30PM. PARTICIPANTS ONLY NEED TO ATTEND ONE SESSION.

When: Thursday, November 2, 2017
Time: Session One – 10 AM | Session Two – 1:30 PM. Please plan to stay for 1.5 hours.
Where: Temple Theater (1011 Locust Street Downtown Des Moines – 2nd Floor). A member of the DMPA team will be there to greet you on the first floor of the Temple for Performing Arts building.
Who: Girls ages 4–5, no older than 5 years and 3 months. Those eligible for trying out may be no taller than 4'2"

HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE WITH MY CHILD?

WILL I STAY WITH MY CHILD OR DROP THEM OFF?

You will stay with your child in the Nollen Lobby at the Civic Center. We do not anticipate each child's audition to take very long; however, if the audition session is full it may take some time to get to your child. Please plan to potentially spend up to 1.5 hours at the audition.

WHAT SHOULD WE BRING WITH US TO THE AUDITION?

Please bring a current head shot and resume, if available. You will be asked to provide contact information and sign a promotional release at the audition.

WHO DECIDES WHICH ACTRESSES WILL BE CAST?

All casting decisions are made by the company representing WAITRESS.

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?

Whatever they are comfortable wearing. The costume is denim and a t-shirt.

HOW LONG WILL THE AUDITION LAST?

10–15 minutes. Please be prepared to stay at least 1.5 hours.

WHEN WILL WE BE NOTIFIED OF RECEIVING THE PART?

Production office will contact the parent or guardian by phone or email within two weeks of the audition. The names will also be announced on the Des Moines Performing Arts Facebook page
