Sibling rivalry, adultery, and dungeons – THE LION IN WINTER is a modern-day classic. Playwright James Goldman also wrote the screenplay for the classic film version starring Katherine Hepburn, Peter O’Toole, and a very young Anthony Hopkins.

Comedic in tone, dramatic in action – the play tells the story of the Henry the Second, his brilliant queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, and their scheming children, who are locked in a free-for-all of competing ambitions to inherit a kingdom. As Queen Eleanor says, “Every family has its ups and downs,” and this royal family is no exception.
