Twenty Local Organizations Receive COVID-19 Nonprofit Adaptation Grants

The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting the daily operations of nonprofit organizations and their long-term viability. In recognition of the challenges facing the nonprofit sector, the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines created the COVID-19 Nonprofit Adaptation Grant Program. In the third round of grants made through the COVID-19 Nonprofit Adaptation Grant Program, the Community Foundation awarded more than $58,000 to 20 local nonprofit organizations to support unanticipated needs as they continue critical services or to reimagine operational effectiveness for the future.

·        Des Moines Playhouse

·        Heritage Carousel of Des Moines

·        Hip Hope

·        HOPE Agency

·        Immigrant Entrepreneur Summit

·        I’ll Make Me a World in Iowa

·        Iowa Stage

·        IRIS

·        Jewels Academy

·        On with Life

·        Rebuilding Together

The COVID-19 Nonprofit Adaptation Grant Program was made possible thanks to support of the Community Foundation’s Better Together Fund. Donors to the Better Together Fund give to support community needs now and into the future as identified through the Community Foundation’s grantmaking process. Facilitated by the organization’s expert staff, Grantmaking Committee and board of directors, the grant programs prioritize initiatives that respond to community trends and opportunities.
