Bonnie Lucas to retire from WHO Radio morning show
WHO Radio reports longtime morning radio host Bonnie Lucas is going to retire.The co-host of "Van and Bonnie in the Morning" announced her retirement Wednesday morning.WHO Radio says Van Harden and Lucas have been doing the morning show on WHO Radio for more than 25 and years. They were inducted into the Iowa Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in 2019. The pair have also won numerous Marconi Awards, which are one of the most prestigious honors in the radio industry, according to the radio station.“This job is not work,” Lucas said. “It’s having fun talking with your friends, inviting them into your world. It’s being in the middle of all the news that’s happening both locally and all around the world. It’s working with a co-host for decades who has been my friend for 40 years. We don’t do this for awards, but this award is extremely special.”WHO Radio said her last day on the air will be March 6th.
