Meet Jerrica Marshall, one of the Business Record's 2024 Forty Under 40.
Her greatest passion is fostering the growth and empowerment of the Black community.
"My inspiration stems from my grandfather, the Rev. Wilson O. Rideout," she says. "As a pastor of one of the largest churches in Waterloo, he used his platform to host community conversations and advocacy initiatives, leaving a lasting impact."
She is the first executive director of the Directors Council, closing the gap on racial inequity.
"In my youth, being among the few minority students in diverse learning environments underscored the importance of courageous conversations and transparency in our experiences," she says. "These instances of personal growth fueled my dedication to speaking out against inequalities and advocating for positive changes."
Outside of work, she is an amateur event planner and enjoys DIY projects.
