Saydel asks for feedback from parents on four-day school week idea
IS HELD AT THE CARTER’S FAMILY RESIDENCE. WELL, BACK HERE IN CENTRAL IOWA, THE SAYDEL SCHOOL DISTRICT IS CONSIDERING A FOUR DAY SCHOOL WEEK. THE DISTRICT WANTS FAMILIES TO FILL OUT A SURVEY TO EVALUATE WHETHER OR NOT THAT’S A GOOD IDEA. THE SCHOOL YEAR WOULD RUN FROM ABOUT THE END OF THE STATE FAIR TO ABOUT MEMORIAL DAY AND EACH SCHOOL DAY ALL YEAR LONG WOULD BE ABOUT 30 MINUTES LONGER. A central Iowa school district is considering switching to a four-day week. The Saydel Community School District wants families to fill out a survey to evaluate if it's a good idea. The school year would run from the end of the Iowa State Fair to about Memorial Day.Each school day would be about 30 minutes longer.The district says it could bring in more students and staff and that it could lead to a better culture and climate, add more quality family time and improve attendance.Parents can fill out the survey through the school district's Facebook page.Saydel is not the first district in the state to consider a four-day week.
