Le Jardin chef Tag Grandgeorge (above) will go toe-to-toe with chef Ashton Cross for National Grits Day. (Photo courtesy of Le Jardin) A Dinner Battle of Grits and Wits Come for a dinner and a show and celebrate National Grits Day! Le Jardin's chefs Tag Grandgeorge and Ashton Cross will duke it out tomorrow to see who makes the best dish with grits. This three-course dinner costs $34. Guests will taste two entrees, one from each chef, and vote on which main dish is best.
Reservations must be made by calling 515-255-5787.
No matter the day, though, you’ll always find the casual yet life-enhancing everyday cooking of France at Le Jardin, an easygoing French
neighborhood bistro. While salads, flatbreads and omelets are always on Grandgeorge’s menu, also keep an eye out for globally inspired dinner features that change each week. Recent offerings included a Korean-grilled pork collar with buttermilk grits cake and garlic-hoisin green beans, as well as mustard-crusted chicken with sweet potato, rosemary and peppered-bacon hash. P.S.: Prices are among the lowest in town for this kind of quality, chef-driven fare.
