As many of you know, in 2015 IAAI converted its annual Indian Independence Day celebrations into an India Day event. We received tremendous support from the community.
With this event, the vision is to bring all the regional Indian communities together and share our rich culture and heritage across Iowa. It will be an outdoor public event and admission will be free. Festivities include Flag Hoisting, Stage Activities, Arts & Cultural display, Authentic Food and Sports.
We need support from you all whether it be Associations, Groups, Individuals, Art Academies, Cultural Centers, Dance Schools, Businesses etc. We have talked to several groups/associations and are in the process of talking to others.
How can you participate/help/volunteer in making this a successful event?
1) Associations/Groups/Individuals can take one or more tents to present cultural artifacts and also sell food & gifts. For cost and Registration click here
2) Associations/Groups/Individuals can participate in Stage performances.
3) There will also be Sports & Children’s Activities that will require volunteer assistance and support.
4) We need plenty of volunteer support for the day of the event and, more importantly from now until the event in the event planning as committee leads in the areas of the Sports, Children Activities, Entertainment/Stage, Operations and Community Liaisons, etc.
If you are interested in participating in any of the above areas or have questions, please send an email to iaai_board@iaaiowa.org. Please share widely with your family, friends and respective groups.
We need lot of volunteers to help us on the event day. Please use the following link to register as your volunteer for the event. Your contributions will be much appreciated.
