Pride Parade
The Capital City Pride Parade will be held at Noon on Sunday, June 9, 2024 as part of PrideFest Weekend, June 7-9, 2024! Capital City Pride is a celebration of community and culture, and the Pride Parade honors LGBTQ+ social and self-acceptance, legal rights, achievements, and pride. The iconic route starts at the Iowa State Capital and travels down Grand Avenue into the Historic East Village. Show us your PRIDE, and be a part of the Parade! By clicking the button below you will find everything you need to apply for a Parade Entry (and an opportunity to apply for a booth space as well). All applications will be reviewed within 10 days. Accepted applicants will then receive an invoice to secure your parade and/or booth spots. We can’t wait to see your rainbow colors! Online parade registration will close on Friday, May 31st.
PrideFest Booth Space
The 2024 Vendor Booth Space and Parade Entry application is now open. All applications will be reviewed within 10 days, and approved applicants will be sent a link to pay and reserve their booth space and/or parade entry. The application will take 15-20 minutes and is easier to fill out on a computer. To begin the process to reserve your booth space or parade entry spot, click the button below! Online vendor booth space registration closes on Friday, May 17th.
Pet Parade
The 2024 Pet Parade is proudly presented by F&G.
Join us for Capital City Pride’s Seventh Annual Pride Pet Parade and let your furry friend show their support for a cause as close to their hearts as it is to yours! Pre-register before June 1st for just $20 and receive a complimentary pride mini-session at Arf & Wag Studio, a day-pass to Paws & Pints, plus an hour of self-service dog wash at Canine Clean for all participants! Registrations after June 1st are $25 and exclude these bonus gifts. Don’t miss out on prizes awarded in six categories: Most Pet Pride, Pet and Owner Look-a-Like, Best Dressed, Best in Show, Crowd Favorite, and Super Model. All registered pets will also receive a Capital City Pride branded bandana!
5K Pride Stride
Be yourself. Be a friend. Be family. Show support. Show pride. Walk. Run. Strut with Capital City Pride in the annual Capital City Pride Stride 5K. The Pride Stride 5K will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 8:00am at Brenton Skating Plaza. Come kick off the second day of PrideFest with us! Pride Stride is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of diversity and acceptance. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or somewhere in between, everyone is welcome to participate and show their support for the LGBTQ+ community. Early Bird Registration (March 25th – May 20th) is $30 per person, and Regular Registration (May 21 – June 4) is $40. Only very LIMITED same-day registrations will be available at the event on June 8, so be sure to secure your spot early!
