Visit the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden’s annual Spring Garden Market for a unique shopping experience located in Des Moines’ most beautiful garden setting. Shop hundreds of plant varieties and tried-and-true favorites that flourish in central Iowa, selected by our own horticulturalists. Shop early, plant quantities are limited. While shopping, enjoy food, fun, and more along with art and other garden-related merchandise from our variety of vendors and community partners. Learn more about some of our region’s most special plants from our local plant societies. Horticulture staff and volunteers will be onsite throughout the event to help answer your questions.

Be among the first to see what’s new at the Spring Garden Market during this evening, sip and shop, garden event. Ticket price includes exclusive first access to available plants, a signature drink, cash bar and hors d’oeuvres to enjoy while you browse. Horticulture staff and volunteers will be on site for the event to help answer your questions! New this year: Vendors will be exhibiting during the evening with a variety of botanical art, fresh florals, and hand-made goods. Door prize drawings will also be taking place for gift baskets featuring a selection of our partner’s wares and Botanical Garden favorites.

Exclusive first access to all sale items and on-site artisan vendors. Ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, signature drink, and door prize drawings. Members from participating AHS Reciprocal Admission Program institutions are not eligible for member ticket prices.
General admission prices grant access to the public sale on
Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10, and Sunday, May 11.
Botanical Garden members shop free.

Shop over 300 plant varieties hand-selected by Botanical Garden horticulturists including many unique varieties grown at the Botanical Garden! Quantities are limited so SHOP EARLY to get the plants you want. Guests are encouraged to bring bags and trays for transporting plants home but will be made available if needed. A full list of available plants will be available in our shopping guide in mid-April.

Food & Drink
- Thursday’s Evening Preview will feature a signature cocktail, passed hors d’oeuvres, and cash bar.
- Flora Café will be serving wood-fired pizzas from Friday from 10am-3:30pm and Saturday from 10am-4:30pm. The café will be open for lunch from 11 am to 2 pm on Friday and Saturday, and for a reservation-only brunch buffet on Sunday, seatings at 9am, 11am, and 1pm.
- Additional food and beverage items for sale in the Garden Shop and from select vendors.
