Young Chef Takes Over Proof Kitchen for a Night

Proof’s Young Cooks Dinner Series continues with two seatings beginning at 5:30 tomorrow night. The series, launched by the restaurant's executive chef Diego Rodriguez, features a menu curated by young rising chefs in Greater Des Moines.

Tomorrow’s five-course dinner will be created by Caleb Crossett, graduate of the Iowa Culinary Institute and current sous chef at the Cheese Bar. The menu includes merguez terrine, poached trout and duck. Tickets are $90 per person. Make reservations, which are limited,

Halloween Drag Brunch

Malo is pairing a three-course Halloween brunch with a drag show from local performers. Tickets are available for two different times,
10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday, for $35 per person. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Iowa Safe Schools, a local nonprofit organization offering support to LGBTQ youths. Learn more
